Open letter to Mr. Scott Adams (Creator of Dilbert and God’d Debris)
December 24, 2006
Dear Mr. Adams,
Thanks for writing the God’s Debris , it does makes one wonder, at least it does IT to me.
Though
I wish it acknowledged about Hindu-Advaita philosophy (May be some easy
palatable, theoretically, interpretations of Sri Aurobindo or Swami Vivekananda ) along with Bohr’s interpretation of Universe (Quantum probabalistic ). Actually I once read something that Einstein also talks about
probability, a very basis for his seminal work in brownian motion and his paper on Bose-Einstein condensate is just about that (though he never like the idea of quantum theory in general).
While reading the God’s debris
probability, I could relate it to ‘Infinite Improbability Drive’ of
‘The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ (Douglas Adams) in a very
strange way which I am not `aware of…
Regarding light being wave/particle, it is interesting to see the similarity between Prof. Feynman’s thought and God’s Debris, but to end the debate, he did say it is particle which behaves like wave in an ensemble. What about different level of energy transfers with different kinds of electromagnetic wave (infrared, visible spectrum, ultraviolet) and gamma-rays (all massless).
Since the Debris is evolving towards God’s consciousness, I guess every bit should have alsoo the information for the path to follow. So in your view, does the bits have all the information for the path to follow (which I am assuming is DNA for us humans) thus how come monozygotic twins follow different paths? Or collectively these bits guide each other? Generally what was your thought on how consciousness emerge in the God’s Debris (ies?)?
Last quarter seems to refute the things laid in earlier 3/4th of the article. Coin toss is valid if the events are independent, but if they are moving towards a desired goal, it would follow markov chain. Morover the probability of getting a predefined set is multiplication of probability of individual events and though it might appear to be independent but if we look as whole, probability will get extremely low for that string. Eg, probability of getting 4 head in 4 tosses is 1/16 and 3 heads is 1/4 (4 times the earlier event). So what are your thoughts on the directionality of system?\n
Hey thanks for the ‘advice on women’ of the God’s Debris, it does help ![]()
Warm regards,
Animesh
